Why do tires wear out?

Your tires can wear out prematurely due to different factors:

     The duration and conditions of driving your vehicle (speed, road conditions and heat)
     Inadequate inflation (over or under inflation)
     Bad balancing
     A faulty valve
     Or a bad parallelism adjustment

Signs of tire wear

Deformations or irregular wear of the tread
Cuts, cracks or hernias on the sidewall of your tire
Extending your braking distances
Vibrations in the steering wheel
Tendency of the vehicle to shift to the left or right

Check your tire pressure once a month and before each long journey. The pressure recommended by the Manufacturer for your vehicle is indicated in the driver's door opening and in the user manual.

Tires which show a dent, cracks, cuts, foreign bodies or irregular wear must be checked by your authorized repairer.

After 5 years, plan a systematic check by a DS expert of your tires without forgetting the spare wheel.

Drive with winter tires

To enable you to approach winter with complete peace of mind, DS offers you a wide range of tires to adapt your driving to the often difficult winter weather conditions: snow, rain, fog, frost and ice are all factors. which make traffic dangerous.

The size and load index are determined by the Manufacturer. They are the result of the best balance in terms of safety, behavior and performance for your DS.

Do not choose a tire with speed or load indices lower than those approved by the Manufacturer. This is dangerous and prohibited by law.

Tire marking

LOAD INDEX

Maximum load that the tire can carry at the maximum speed (indicated by the speed code).

SPEED CODE

Maximum speed allowed to carry the load indicated by the load index.

WEAR INDICATOR

Wear indicator, located at the bottom of the sculpture, in one of the main grooves.
